Pelvic Mesh Surgery and Liability

A 65 year old Indiana woman is bring suit against Johnson and Johnson due to excruciating pain caused by their vaginal mesh product during intercourse. The plaintiff’s lawyers assert that Johnson and Johnson did not take necessary steps to allow for the product’s removal and did not take an adequate interest in how their mesh would work in real world situations. The rush to release the product to the market overwhelmed necessary safety and quality concerns, say the plaintiffs, who hope to be added to the list of 16 recent verdicts issued against mesh manufacturers.
